BIRDS OF PREY DAY

Today, my mom, sister and I went to the Birds of Prey Day at Green Chimneys in Brewster, NY.  There were more than 100 birds from around CT and NY.  Green Chimneys is home to 300 animals including 50 birds of prey.  The children at Green Chimneys School have special needs of their own and part of their rehabilitation is to care for the animals.  As many animals as possible are released back into the wild after being rehabilitated. Others with more severe disabilities are sheltered at the facility permanently.  It is open to the public on weekends from 10am - 3pm.  Here are some birds from the event.
