The Wild Center - Tupper Lake

This center is situated in the middle of the Adirondacks and includes many trails, trails, ponds, rivers and exhibits. But the best attraction is the "Wild Walk".  This is a series of platforms and walkways - elevated ABOVE the trees so that you can see things differently, from a vantage point you don't usually get to experience.  These walkways are loaded with hands-on activities for the kids but there's enough to see and experience is you are visiting without kids.  Either way, it is a must see if you are in the area of Tupper Lake!

Mother's Day - Trevor Zoo

On Mother's Day, my sister and I spent the day with our mom at the zoo :)

Provincetown, Mass

Provincetown, also known as P-town is a town of about 3,000 residents at the far end of Cape Cod; however, in the summer, it can get up to 60,000 residents.  The town is known for its beaches, shops, artists and a vacation destination for the LGBT community.  We went there the first week in June for 4 days and biked the sand dunes, walked the village, visited the shops and experienced the great food. A great place to visit!

BEWARE OF THE BEARS!

Today, there was a bear sighting in Poughkeepsie and last week, one in Wingdale. A little more than a month ago, Rick and I were able to photograph a mother bear and her two cubs in Pawling - they were right next to the road.

Teatown Hudson River EagleFest 2015

Went to the Teatown EagleFest with my sister for the third year in a row. Saw about 3-4 dozen eagles with as many as 16 at one time. Started off at the Crotan Dam but the best location to see eagles ended up being the campsite at Crotan Point Park. With a mile hike in and out, we saw a dozen or more eagles up close.  We saw many eagles on the ice but those were too far away to get a good picture.
