World Peace Prayer Society
Funny what you can find right in your back yard when not looking...recently we took some back roads and came across the World Peace Prayer Society in Wassaic, NY, only about 10 miles from my house, yet I didn't know that this place existed. The sanctuary is the international home and headquarters of the
World Peace Prayer Society.
World Globe - An exact replica of this sculpture can be found at the Mt. Fuji Sanctuary in
Japan.
Peace Path - A slated and winding path lined with Peace Poles on both sides, representing
each of the 192 U.N. member nations in the world. Peace Poles are now recognized as the most prominent international symbol and
monument to peace. Peace Poles bear the message, May Peace Prevail On Earth in
the languages of the world.
It is estimated that there
are more than 200,000 Peace Poles that have been dedicated in nearly every
country on Earth.
Peace Prayer Field - A large field where the 'flags of all nations' fly high during the summer season. The field has a stage on one end and the World Globe on the other.
